Longtime sportswriter Geoff Kirbyson shares the life of one of hockey’s most beloved coaches and personalities in The Funniest Man In Hockey: The Life and Times of Tom McVie, which is on sale now in Canada, and soon to be released in the US (November 2026).

Geoff Kirbyson is a veteran journalist who spent much of his career at the Winnipeg Free Press. Today, he is the publisher of Manitoba Inc. magazine and co-host of the Manitoba Inc. podcast, one of the top 20 business podcasts in Canada. He has also written for Canadian Business Magazine, The Hockey News, and numerous trade publications. He coached minor hockey for many years and is a stay-at-home defenceman on The Sofa Kings.

Host Greg Mackling is co-host of the 680 CJOB Morning Show The Start with Brett Megarry, host of the Blue Bombers halftime show, and co-host of the Blue Bomber’s Podcast with Hall of Famer Doug Brown. A proud husband and father of twin boys, Greg is a passionate advocate for mental health and wellness, openly sharing his journey with brain injury and depression. Fiercely proud of Manitoba, he supports community causes including as spokesperson for the St Boniface Hospital Foundation annual lottery, as well as member of the board of directors, Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame.
